In 1994, founded the National Society of Endocrine Surgery and served two terms as the Society’s President.
Became a founding member of the European Society of Endocrine Surgery and served on its Board of Directors between 2015 and 2018.
In 2003, became a founding member of the European Union Division of Endocrine Surgery (UEMS) and served as National Delegate until 2019.
Member of the Turkish Medical Association, the National Surgical Society, International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES), International Society of Surgery (ICS), American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), American Thyroid Association (ATA), Endocrine Society, American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and American College of Surgeons (ACS).
In 1991 and 1993, was awarded the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons Award.
In 1997 and 2007, won the Istanbul University Scientific Researcher Award.
A total of 12 books and book chapters have been published abroad and in Turkey.
A total of more than 150 articles have been published, 56 of them international (Sci H index 21).
