In 1980, completed a clinical surgery internship at Kantonshospital Glarus, Switzerland, and in 1983, an Obstetrics and Gynecology internship at the same place.
In 1987, was a visiting resident at the Saar University Orthopedics and Traumatology Clinic, Hamburg.
In 1989, attended the Microsurgical Reconstructions Course at the Microsurgery Laboratory of the Gülhane Military Medical Academy.
In 1990, as an Istanbul University scholarship holder, carried out studies on Clinical Replantation Surgery at the Hand Surgery and Plastic Surgery Clinic of the Erlangen University Faculty of Medicine.
In 1992, carried out studies on Circular External Fixators at Ospedale S. Gerardo di Monza, Clinica Orthopedica Traum.II Dell Uni. Degli Studio di Milano.
In 1993, attended the Practical Course on Wrist Arthroscopy and Endoscopy at Orthop. Klinik Heinrich-Hein Uni., Düsseldorf.
In 1995, attended the 4th Annual Limb Deformity Course in Baltimore, USA.
In 1996, carried out studies on Ilizarov Surgery at Orthopedic Hospital, Houston, Texas.
In 1997, worked as a Fellow at the University of Maryland, Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Center, Baltimore, on limb lengthening, pseudarthrosis, and bone infection treatment.
Recipient of the Istanbul University Successful Researcher Award in 1999 and 2000 and of the first-place award in the Experimental Study category of the Turkish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology “Akif Şakir Şakar” Award in 2001. Also, in 2013, was a guest speaker at the LLRS Society (USA).
Member of the Turkish Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Union Association, Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, Society for the Application and Development of Ilizarov Methods, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Limb Lengthening&Reconstruction Society of Northamerica.
