- In 1989, took part in the founding of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine Breast Diseases Research and Treatment Society and Unit.
- Since 1989, has taken part in organizing and conducting the weekly Breast Cancer Council meetings (more than 1350 meetings).
- In 1994 and 1995, worked as a Research Fellow at the Breast Diseases Clinic and Surgical Oncology Laboratory, Johns Hopkins University Faculty of Medicine, USA.
- In 1997, was admitted as a Fellow of American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.).
- Has more than 150 scientific studies presented at various congresses in Turkey and abroad and published in journals.
- Wrote 3 separate chapters related to the field of specialty in 2 books.
- Served as editor of the books Breast Disease and Breast Cancer, published by Springer.
- Served as a member of the Executive Board and the Faculty Board of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine.
- Took part in organizing the largest-attended (1000 participants) 4th National Breast Diseases Congress (Istanbul Lütfü Kırdar) in the field. Chaired the National Breast Diseases Congress held in 2011.
- Took part, as participant, organizer, and speaker, in arranging more than 20 training meetings on breast diseases aimed at the postgraduate level. Took part as a speaker and discussant in many congresses and courses on gastric cancer, laparoscopic rectal cancer, and breast cancer.
- In 1997, served as a founding member at the establishment of the Surgical Oncology Society and as president. Contributed as an editor to the publication of the journal Cerrahi Onkoloji.
- Served in the Turkey Federation of Breast Diseases Societies as a founding member at its establishment and as president for the 2017-2019 term.
- Member of the Turkish Society of Gastroenterology, Turkish Society of Oncology, Istanbul Breast Society (founding member), Laparoscopic & Endoscopic Minimally Invasive Surgery Society (founding member), Turkish Academic Staff Association, American College of Surgeons (A.C.S.), Turkish Surgical Society, European Association of Laparoscopic Surgery (E.A.L.S.), Istanbul Surgical Society (founding member), and World Society for Breast.
