Attained the title of Associate Professor in 1991 and Professor in 1996.
In 1994, founded the National Endocrine Surgery Society and served as the society’s president for 2 terms.
Became a founding member of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons and served as a member of the Board of Directors between 2015 and 2018.
In 2003, became a founding member of the European Union Division of Endocrine Surgery (UEMS) and served as National Delegate until 2019.
Member of the Turkish Medical Association, the National Surgical Society, International Association of Endocrine Surgeons (IAES), International Society of Surgery (ICS), American Association of Endocrine Surgeons (AAES), American Thyroid Association (ATA), Endocrine Society, American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) and American College of Surgeons (ACS).
Was awarded the International Association of Endocrine Surgeons Award in 1991 and 1993.
Won the Istanbul University “Scientific Researcher Award” in 1997 and 2007.
Has a total of 12 books and book chapters published abroad and in Turkey.
A total of more than 150articles have been published, 56 of them international (Sci H index 21).
