- Began subspecialty training in Gastroenterology at Celal Bayar University and completed the final year (2009–2010) at Newcastle University.
- At Newcastle University, completed a master’s degree (2011) and a PhD (2014) on liver diseases.
- In 2012–2014, as an EASL Sheila Sherlock Fellow, continued work on liver diseases at Newcastle University.
- Member of the Turkish Medical Association, Turkish Association for the Study of the Liver, General Medical Council (UK) and European Association for the Study of the Liver.
