- With a scholarship from the International Society of Nephrology, for nephrology training worked between 2007 and 2008 at Yale University School of Medicine as a clinical fellow.
- Received the title of Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015.
- In recognition of work in the field of nephrology, was elected to the European Renal Association Distinguished Fellowship in 2013, the American Society of Nephrology Distinguished Fellowship in 2018 and the International Society of Nephrology Distinguished Fellowship in 2023 (Distinguished Fellow of European Renal Association; FERA; Distinguished Fellow of American Society of Nephrology, FASN; Distinguished Fellow of International Society of Nephrology, FISN).
- In 2014, received the TÜBİTAK Science Incentive Award in recognition of work in the field of nephrology.
- Has more than 360 international articles in the field of nephrology and is an editorial board member of many journals.
- The European Renal Association journal Clinical Kidney Journal — section editor for Cardiovascular Disease and Hypertension. Member of the scientific editorial board of many important international journals.
- In 2021, was elected to membership of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in recognition of work in kidney diseases, hypertension, kidney transplantation and cardiovascular disease.
