- Received the title of Associate Professor in 2000 and Professor in 2006.
- Between 2008 and 2014, served as Head of the Department of Cardiology at Kocaeli University Faculty of Medicine; between 2012 and 2016, as Head of the Division of Internal Medical Sciences; and between 2007 and 2016, as Director of the Experimental and Clinical Research Center of Kocaeli University.
- Served as Member of the Human Research Ethics Committee between 2006 and 2009, and as Vice Chair of the Human Research Ethics Committee between 2009 and 2015.
- Between 2008 and 2012, served as the ‘National Coordinator for European Heart Disease Prevention of the Turkish Society of Cardiology’.
- Between 2012 and 2014, served as Chair of the Women's Heart Health Project Group of the Turkish Society of Cardiology.
- Currently continues to serve as a member of the Turkish Cardiology Board of Competence and as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Türk Kardiyoloji Derneği Arşivi.
- In national and international journals, more than 200 articles have been published; also a clinical cardiology book and 5 book chapters in various cardiology books.
