At the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Geneva University Hospital, appointed Deputy Head in 1998 and Head in 2001. In 2011, appointed Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Surgery.
Awarded the title of associate professor in 1995 by the Inter-University Council.
At the University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine, received the title of professor in 2006 and ordinarius professor in 2012.
Has over 300 published articles. Participated as a speaker in 800 conferences.
Developer of 4 distinct surgical techniques published and recognized in international surgical journals, as well as of a bioresorbablevalve named after the surgeon and a biological valve that is currently in the testing phase in the USA.
